Chapter 84
“He came,” Jeromy said to someone over the phone immediately after Nathan left.
“Okay,” the voice answered. “Let’s meet today.”
“I’m really beginning to get scared of all of this,” Jeromy said to the person at the other end.
“You don’t have to be,” the deep and cold voice assured him. “Just meet me at the venue,” the voice paused as if he was listening to something else, or rather, someone else. “Same time,” it continued.
By this time, Nathan had already driven far away from Jeromy’s house.
“Dad! Dad!” Jeromy’s kids came out to meet him looking worried. He had two, a boy—Kerry, and a girl—Johanna.
“Let’s go inside.” Jeromy still had his eyes fixed on the streets.
Madison was patiently waiting for Nathan’s return. He took longer than he told her he would. She had been sitting for three hours with Max laying on her legs, sleeping.
“Thank goodness, he’s back.” Madison heard the noise from Nathan’s vehicle driving in.
