Chapter 69. Where It All Started
More than any place, Heartless Pub has held a special spot in her heart. This is where Ezekiel has taken her when she wanted the world to hear her music, and in order for the harmony to synchronize, she needs to show her talent.
The memory surged in her. If she’s going back to Wales, might as well cut the parties clean. Rachel said, “Can we stop here for a while? I wanted to say goodbye.”
Michelle ordered the henchman to stop the horses at the side. Once they had calmed down, Rachel climbed out of the carriage while securing the ribbons of her leather cape around her neck. The snow has fallen. The white mist was waiting for her shoe soles to mold in and take a shape.
When she landed on the soft white cushion, her boots left prints. Rachel tucked her cold hands inside her trench wear while breathing the vapor out of her breath. It would be hard to see Conrad if she were to come in the front door, so she thought of meeting him at the back.
