Chapter 71. The Dinner at Griffin's
Rachel came home with her family, all huddled in the living room, conversing about the wars in another state. As soon as she came inside, they stopped.
Rachel’s mom, Rochelle Han, went to her and cried. This is the first time in years they have seen each other. She has been busy with making a name out of her career in Queen’s School that she missed being home. Rochelle didn’t even hesitate to hold her little girl’s cheeks.
Nodding, Rochelle stated, “I’m glad that you came home well, safe, and sound. I would go out of my mind if you weren’t. How have you been, Rachel, and how’s the study?”
She could see how much her family was giddy of her presence. They never changed. Last time she went home, this is the kind of energy they exude, too. She hugged her mother once again, and they sat down in the living room with her siblings and father.
