Chapter 45

Suddenly, all the love she felt for Cage disappeared and was replaced by a void, an empty space in her heart. She was shattered to find out such a thing about her husband. She was broken at that point, they both were.

“Listen to me.. Lucy.”

Cage ran towards Lucy and before she could escape, he grabbed her wrist and wriggled her phone out of her hand. He shoved the phone into his hip pocket.

“Let me go! Let me go! You're a murderer! I hate you!” Lucy screamed.

Thankfully, her parents weren't around so no one could intervene. Cage needed her to calm down so that he would explain things to her.

He quit being an assassin a long time ago because it wasn't the kind of life he wanted for himself. He wanted to be a good husband and a loving father, he wanted a sweet family. That was why he quit. The execution of the minister was something he was forced to do to protect Lucy.

“I quit a long time ago Lucy! Believe me!”
