Chapter 306

Demetri’s POV

He studies me closely, silently thinking about what he wants. I can tell he’s absolutely torn with the question but giving him a choice where Alpha Redmen gave none is the only thing I can think of to remind him of who he’s working with.

Unexpectedly, the young pup takes the final two steps remaining between him and I, collapsing easily into my lap. I hold him as he weeps again before gently coaxing him through what I know needs to be done.

The simple process of relieving himself is painfully exhausting yet the end goal is ultimately achieved before we both wash our hands. I pick him up without a word and settle him quickly onto my shoulder allowing him to feel and smell who I am. Stepping back into his room the two nurses have yet to leave and are whispering an indiscernible conversation with each other, the doctor appears to be in shock.
