Chapter 6. Her Pride
Trevor continued asking Savannah the same questions as they walked to the jeepney terminal. Finally annoyed with him, she decided to answer, “I just… I just feel ashamed that my grandparents spent so much money on my enrollment…” She sighed deeply. “It’s my fault… I should have chosen to study in UP Manila instead… and I should have tried harder in the qualifying exam for the government-funded scholarship!” She scratched her head after venting her frustrations.
Trevor shook his head, laughing a bit, and said, “Why are you worrying so much about money when your family is so rich?” He laughed again. “I’m sure these ten thousand pesos your grandparents gave you are like spare change to them!”
“This is the first time they’ve spent this much on me… and because of that, I feel like I’m burdening them, and I don’t want to be a burden. I don’t want them to feel that way,” Savannah massaged her temples.
“Sav… you’re the only one who thinks that way,” Trevor clicked his tong
