I can assure him that I am not going to die. The only person who might if I lay my hands on her is Naomi.
“I won’t,” I reply to him as I watch him reach for his suitcases.
“Let me help you,” I tell him and he shakes his head as to say no.
“It’s okay, Jen. James would help. I don’t want to see you as I leave, it would make me feel emotional.” He says and I chuckle.
He seems like a rock but also like a giant teddy bear.
In a few minutes, James joins us and he escorts Chad out of the house along with his things.
I don’t follow them because I too might get emotional watching him leave.
“Good morning, ma’am.” I hear a voice that startles me.
Chad’s cologne scent if still in the living room and I was just basking in it. I will truly miss him.
I just have to complete this job and I would be off to London to join him. Retiring sounds like such a strange plan, especially since I am so young.
