Chapter 107
“Okay, let’s hear the story,” I say softly.
“You see, when I was young, I always wanted to be a poet. My family was not as excited as I was about it. They wanted their boy to grow up to be a businessman, the most successful one yet. And of course, they crushed my dream to a slow and well-planned death.” Robert explains and my heart aches for him.
Imagine having your dream ripped away from you just so you can satisfy the desires of someone else.
“Were you at least good at it?” I ask him about his poems and he chuckles.
“Well, I was offered a scholarship to go to school here in New York based on only three poems that I submitted in a competition once.” He replies and I mumble, “Wow.”
“Yeah, wow,” He says in a small voice.
A knock on the door startles us and I become self-conscious that Robert and I are completely naked with only the white bedsheets covering a small portion
