“That’s boring. Give me something more…exciting.”
I look over my shoulder, offering her a small smile before going off to drop a cup of coffee on the table nearest to the door’s right.
Pat and I have been quite the duo since she came in. There’s always something to say. Let me rephrase that. There’s always something for her to say and me, questions to ask. And the way we handle the people that come in is also something worthy of excessive emulation. When I’m cleaning the table someone just stood up from, she’s taking the order of the next person; during rush hour, one person handles taking orders, and the other takes it to the owner or calls out to them.
Currently, we’re talking about her first day with her boyfriend, and I can see the excitement in her voice.
