Three days later, Lysa was told a message nobody wanted to hear. The kind that sent all the hot blood in her body cold and frosted up her lungs, making it hard to form words.

Her mother had an accident.

She was in the car with her bodyguard heading to a meeting, some important arrangement that she couldn’t apparently get out of.

It was a typical accident, just some accidental knock between a drunk driver who wasn’t looking where he was going and her mom’s car.

She wasn’t allowed to visit her as she was still with the healer.

Did my father do this? Was he already tired of her, or was he just trying to show her he was still boss?
