Chapter 53

Alessa and Elijah were on the balcony that night. They had just finished enjoying themselves in front of the bonfire and they were the only two who weren’t drunk. Elijah had been drinking, but it wasn’t obvious. If he didn’t smell the alcohol on his body, he wouldn’t think he was drunk.

“Do you feel sleepy?” Elijah asked Alessa as he shook his head. He went to her, then put his arm around her. They both looked up at the sky and watched the sky full of stars.

“You didn’t tell me that Alyson and Maegan were best friends then,” she said to her boyfriend, who was obviously surprised by what she said.

“Didn’t I mention that?” he frowned when he asked.

Alessa shook her head. “No. It shocked me while Alyson was telling me a story earlier. What Maegan went with was her ex-boyfriend, right?”
