Chapter 35. After Collapsing
As the world came back into focus, Mary gently opened her eyes, her eyesight becoming fuzzy. Though she attempted to move, her body felt sluggish and heavy. As she fought to recollect what had occurred, confusion swept over her. Then she recognized a voice.
The voice was laced with worry and relief, "Mary? Can you hear me?"
"What happened, Sam? Why am I here?" she managed to ask, her voice still weak. Sam said, his voice tinged with worry, "You collapsed." You were in the middle of asking the doctor a question when..."Mary attempted to remember what had happened before she had fallen, but she couldn't remember anything. She dimly recalled feeling dizzy and lightheaded, but she couldn't recall the specifics. She noticed Sam's worried expression as she turned to face him, and she couldn't help but feel bad for upsetting him. "Are you feeling better now?" he asked her, and then she just nodded her head.
