Chapter 103. I Am Here for You

Catherine’s POV

It was just before dinner when we arrived back at White River Pack, and I was physically and mentally exhausted.

Colt decided that it was his turn to escort me back to my room, and he was happily pushing the wheelchair down the long hallway while I was dreaming of taking a long and relaxing bath.

“Did you enjoy our little trip downtown?” Colt asked.

“Yes, thank you,” I said, and I turned my head to look at him. “It was a good ending for a bad morning.”

Colt chuckled; he knew exactly where I was hinting at.

“Hopefully tomorrow morning will be better,” he said.

“I hope so,” I answered. “I don’t think I have the energy to play hero again.”

My thoughts trailed off as my gaze landed on my bedroom door, and a cold feeling washed over me.

Why was the door unlocked and open?

I was pretty sure I locked the door before leaving for town.
