Chapter 121. It Was Never a Dream!
Catherine’s POV
The crisp, cold water knocked the air out of my lungs, and I gasped for air as the water made its way down my throat into my lungs.
The freezing temperatures of the ice-cold water made my muscles ache and burn, making it difficult to move my arms. It was freezing!
I tried to swim back to the surface, but the never-ending silver dress was pulling me down to the bottom of the pool. I got entangled in the endless material, and it became a hopeless and unforgiving battle.
Oh, goddess, help!
I don’t want to drown!
I don’t want to die like this!
I want to grow old and have a family of my own!
My lungs burned as the last oxygen left my lungs. My eyesight became blurry.
“I wish I could have met you!” I called out to Kia as my back touched the bottom of the pool. “I wish I could have felt the wind move through our fur and the dampness under our paws.”
“You still will,” she whispered.
