Bea's POV

I requested Josh to keep my condition a secret from my parents in order to spare them from additional stress. They are already burdened with various responsibilities, and I don't want to add to their worries. I assured Josh that we will eventually disclose the truth to them, just not at this moment.

Both Josh and I agreed that when my parents return home, we would talk to them directly. We planned to wait for them at our house and explain that I would be going back with Josh. However, I ended up falling asleep while waiting, completely unaware of the passing time. Meanwhile, Josh seemed to be somewhere around the house, amusing himself.

I was startled when the door swung open abruptly, revealing my furious mom standing there. "What is this foolishness, Beatrice Chloe?" she exploded in anger.
