Chapter 11
Salome pranced about the room, one hand on her chin and the other tugging on her hair. She stared up at the ceiling, feeling the last bit of strength draining from her body. Things were slowly starting to get out of control. All the lab scientists who were asked to test the staff were dead. Dead! How? How was it possible that something killed people so quickly? Miriam, too, was dead, and of all the deaths, hers was the scariest.
Jamie tapped her shoulder gently, and she turned around to look at him. He looked tired too. She gently caressed the side of his face.
“What are you doing here?” He asked in a soft tone. Her shoulders slumped, and she dropped her hands. She turned to face the garden, inhaling the fresh air from the flowers. She was standing on the balcony, taking in the beauty of the garden in the backyard.
“Thinking.”
“You shouldn’t worry so much,” Jamie said. He rubbed her arms gently and kissed her hair. “Thinking will not change anything.”
