Chapter 34
Bonita got off the public bus and walked towards the orphanage. It had been five years, and everything seemed unchanged, except for the freshly painted front door that now stood out in bright pink. She stood hesitating at the entrance, her mind in chaos. Raising her hand hesitantly, she then lowered it slowly.
She gazed at the giant sea hibiscus tree in the garden, reminiscing about that day five years ago.
It was an excellent and breezy morning, the sea hibiscus petals swaying in the wind. She was preparing to go to the office of the orphanage’s director to find her, as she had never called her “mother.”
As she approached the office door, she suddenly heard a man’s voice.
“Director Trovica, I’ve been inquiring for a long time and finally traced the baby brought here. You must help me find out more.” The man’s voice sounded anxious and urgent.
“Mr. Adam, please don’t rush. If the baby is at our orphanage, I hope she can find her biological parents. Rest
