Chapter 8
“Adam, I believe you understand me very well.” Edward lifted his glass, examining it with great seriousness, inhaling its scent, and then turning his gaze back.
“For me, women were merely instruments of harmony in life. Taking them seriously would be troublesome, and I don’t want to cause trouble for myself.” Edward took a sip of the whisky in his hand, speaking with disdain evident on his face, causing the woman not far away to clench her fist tightly.
“Based on your words, that little hedgehog in there is just another prey for your hidden desires, like any other woman, isn’t it?” Adam noticed a woman behind Edward, staring angrily at him.
Edward, however, paid no attention to the smile on Adam’s face, which held more than a hint of irony. As a man, he maintained his composure, finished his drink in one gulp, and spoke sincerely.
“They are merely companions in bed, satisfying physical needs that can’t be suppressed, right? It’s not good for the body to rest
