Chapter 10
Adam had lost his patience with the woman in his embrace. She was merely a prop to him, and if she served no purpose, he had no interest in comforting her. Sensing Adam’s coldness, the woman stiffened, and a gloomy expression crossed her face. She knew provoking him was not a wise move. She adjusted her clothes, lifted a sweet smile, and kissed his face.
“Alright then, I’ll go. I’ll be waiting for you in the evening, dear.” Reluctantly, she stood up and left the room.
After she left, the office suddenly fell into silence, making Kaytly uneasy. Her heart began to race uncontrollably.
Adam lit a cigarette, elegantly blowing smoke rings. He stared intently at Kaytly without saying a word.
“Sir, may I ask if there’s anything else you need me to do?” Kaytly couldn’t bear the oppressive atmosphere any longer and spoke, closing her eyes.
