The sound of a knock on the door echoed.

“Please come in!” Adam’s voice regained its calmness.

Kaytly held a stack of documents, her face expressionless as she approached Adam. She glanced casually at the manager beside him. She never thought that the manager, who always worked diligently, would secretly serve someone else.

“Secretary Blanche, hand over the items to the manager.”

“Yes, sir!”

Kaytly walked up to him and handed the documents to the manager. Seeing the stack of papers, the manager suddenly felt uncertain, hesitating as he took them. Fear gradually replaced the surprise on his face as he began to flip through them. He wiped the sweat off his forehead, looking up in a panic at Adam.

“I’m truly sorry, sir. I made a mistake. It’s my first time… If you forgive me, I’ll do anything you ask!” he recoiled.
