Chapter 27
“Get on the table now, human!” he growled at me as his teeth kept on elongating.
“I’m sorry, Master!” I begged as I took a step back.
“Get on the table, human.” His voice got darker.
I went a step toward him as my heart seemed more like it wanted to jump out of my chest.
My bones were rattling. And so were my teeth, which were chattering.
“Get on the dinner table.” He pointed at the table.
“Yes, Master.” I walked to the dinner table and lay on it, still shuddering.
“Spread your legs,” he said in that expressionless voice that always leaves my heart racing as if I ran a marathon.
I did as he asked as I tried not to show my fears, which was like a futile thing on my part.
“Why did you think to insult me in the presence of those peasants?”
“I’m sorry, Master. I was—”
