Star’s POV

Startled, I almost fell at the suddenness of the voice. I wasn’t expecting anyone close, since I’d checked the entire place to make certain there were no maids around before I dashed through the lawns towards the orchids.

“What are you doing here?” I righted in my stance.

Instead of the sneaking posture I had when I was certain I was alone, I took a flight posture.

This way, should he try anything funny, I will be halfway across the palace ground before he notices my plans.

“I told her you will come.” Rod smirked, “I might not have known you that well, but I certainly know you.”

“What do you want?” I took a step back, initially planning on how to escape from this deranged Vampire.

“I’m not concerned with your wants. I only want to get some fruits, and be on my merry way,” I frowned at him.
