Chapter 33. A Livid, Refreshing Sight

“What the fuck did you say?” Belladonna asked, jumping to her feet.
I stared at her, my chin resting on my folded fist. She was livid, suddenly going red with anger. Her eyes were red, her jaw clenched so hard she might break something. She looked ready to kill.
That was interesting.
“You heard me,” I replied, my voice cool.
“Where did you meet her?” she asked, her fists clenching and unclenching at her sides, her chest heaving.
“At the rooftop. I went for a cigarette break and met her there.”
“So the two of you were alone?”
“Yes.”
She opened her mouth but then closed it again, all sorts of negative things written all over her gaze.
“What’s so wrong with being alone with Medea?” I asked, just because I wanted to poke.
“You shouldn't be alone with her,” she gritted, her jaw still clenched.
