I blinked my eyes open to see an unfamiliar ceiling staring down at me. There was a foul taste in my mouth, and my head felt too heavy even though I was lying down. 

Whatever drugs Raines had used to knock me out were strong. 

I tried to sit up and even my whole body felt heavy, but I managed to raise myself. But… my left hand won't move. 

I turned to see that my hand was cuffed to the bed. 

“That bastard,” I muttered, rubbing my throat when my voice came out too hoarse. 

I looked around and I was in a small room, clean, but the smell of dust was heavy in the air, telling me no one had been in this room for a while. And that bastard Raines was nowhere to be found. 

I sighed, resting my head on the headboard, closing my eyes.
