Today was a remarkable day. Today, I would meet someone who would love me unconditionally and cherish me for who I was, something I had always yearned for.

The atmosphere was electric; a symphony of laughter and chatter filled the air as the girls speculated about their potential mates. The room was a vibrant array of beautiful gowns, intricately styled hair, and expertly applied makeup. Though, some choices were questionable. A group of girls, the 'plastics' as they were known, wore attire that was too revealing, their faces caked with layers of makeup, transforming them into orange-tinted specters. Another group of girls sported oversized, puffy dresses that seemed nearly impossible to navigate through doorways with. The array of colors and styles ranged from outlandish and bold to subdued and neutral.
