Chapter 13. Price to Save Another
Lotus’s POV
I spend my days training with Lennox and my nights with Louis. Both are keeping a respectable distance, but not as much as Levi. He refuses to exist in the same room with me. I try not to let it hurt my feelings, but I can’t help but feel like there’s something wrong with me.
Today is a rare occasion. The four of us are sitting in the dining room together. Lennox and Louis sit at my sides, while Levi sits at the head of the table like a stranger.
Lennox cracks the occasional dirty joke. It is something I have grown accustomed to, but it still makes me uncomfortable. He pretends like he doesn’t notice the way I tense beside him when he delivers the punch line. But this time Levi’s fork clatters loudly on his plate.
“Can you think of nothing more appropriate to say in front of Thomas?”
