Chapter 24. You Are Perfect

Lotus’s POV

I look at Lennox in confusion. “What does that mean?”

His eyes are filled with tears, and he cups my face in his hands. “I don’t know what you did, but you woke something within my lycan. You are my fated mate.”

I step away from him, keeping my eyes on the ground in front of me. “I still don’t understand.”

Lennox falls to his knees in front of me, holding onto the hem of my shirt. He looks up at me with wounded dark eyes. “Don’t be afraid.”

I hold my head high. “I am not afraid.”

It isn’t the truth. I am afraid. I am afraid of what it will mean if I am Lennox’s fated mate. Will he expect me to bear him children? Memories of my uncle’s body hovering over me flash through my mind, and bile rises in my throat. I swallow it down and step away from Lennox.
