Chapter 35. Retaliation

Lotus’s POV

The warning comes at dawn, pulling me out of my sleep. Lennox’s eyes dart open as the alarms ring through the palace. Placing a firm kiss on my forehead, he bolts from my room. He doesn’t tell me to stay behind or to hide, and for a moment, I am unsure as to what I am supposed to do.

By the time I reach the courtyard, the triplets are already shifting, their lycans massive with steam rolling off their fur. I should be intimidated by their grotesque forms, but instead, I find a strange comfort in knowing I will be fighting alongside them.

Another horn blares, and my eyes are torn away from the triplets. Winter Pack warriors are standing at the ready, waiting for their commands. Some are already shifted, others have weapons thrown over their back, prepared to fight in their human forms for as long as possible.

The Summer Pack has come.
