Chapter 83. Rebuilding
Lotus’s POV
The snow finally starts to melt.
Not much, just a thin sheen of water running along the edges of the walkways, but it’s enough to remind everyone that the world can change.
From the command balcony of the Winter Palace, I can see the makeshift camps stretching for miles across the valley. Dozens of them, patched together with scavenged tents, tarps, and half-frozen vehicles. Lycans from every pack live side by side. Autumn warriors beside Summer healers, Spring archers laughing with Winter scouts. The boundaries that once divided them have blurred.
But even blurred lines don’t stay that way forever.
“Most of them are ready to leave,” Lennox says beside me, scrolling through reports on his tablet. “The Summer survivors want to head south where the soil’s thawed. The Spring scouts plan to rebuild along the old river settlements. And the Autumn stragglers…” He pauses. “They’re scared. No alpha. No home.”
“They’ll have one,” I say.<
