Chapter 15

Vera rapped at the door and stood waiting for Sarah to respond. No response came. She listened for a sound but heard none. She'd gone to see her since she was not yet talking to her and had refused entirely to pick up her calls. The door was locked from the inside, signifying that someone was there. She knocked again, a little louder this time. Yet no response came. She stood there and pulled out her phone. She dialed her number, and it rang, but she didn't pick up. When she got tired, she stepped out of her house.

It was a lone house surrounded by trees that served as a shelter. The only house can be seen farther down. Sarah has been the only one living in this house, and now that Vera looked closely, she saw that there were markings, strange markings on the walls that she could not decipher.
