Chapter 16

Johnny and Scot stood before the order waiting for the verdict. Everyone was waiting too. Till the elders appeared and sat to start the hearing, Johnny held onto Scot, reassuring him that they were together. When the elders of the Sanhedrin order appeared, everyone stood. They stood with Johnny's mind.

He wasn't scared of the type of highlights on the walls or the cawing eerie sounds that hummed through the woods. The place where the Dorismo order had hearings and gave verdicts was an open area in the woods. Different species packs had different sites where they sat together for the meeting. In a way, they all knew each other.

When the light came, Johnny could sense the surprised look on the faces of everyone. He stared round in search of someone familiar. At first, there was no one, then he saw Cornis, who looked away as quickly as their eyes met.
