Chapter 33. A Two Alphas’ Fight for a Slave
“What bargain?” Ansel asked—repeated—with sarcasm that could have earned him a punch if Alain’s hand was not on the wall, his other on his hips.
“Are you mocking me?”
Ansel choked on a nervous laugh. “You seriously did not remember our bargain.”
By Alain’s body language, he doesn’t like where this is going. “As far as I have remembered, we never had a bargain.”
“You’re right,” the Fire Moon Alpha stalked towards him, eyes boring straight to his soul. “We never have a bargain. But we just did. Now.”
Alain flashed his teeth, growling. “You cunning piece of—”
“Hear me first before you bark curse words at my face!” In a distance, his palm, open and suspended in the air, might look as if Ansel is just wanting a high-five from Alain. “You already made me an Alpha, thank you for that.”
Now Alain is narrowing his eyes at the young Alpha, stepping a foot forward. “Stop mocking me—” But Alain inhaled before he could continue. “What more do you want?”
