Chapter 57. The Price of Victory
I headed to the cave and emerged from the water with great effort, coughing and vomiting the water I had swallowed. The wolf that had tried to kill me had already grabbed the flag, which left me frustrated. I attempted to roar in fury, but my voice failed; I was exhausted. Nevertheless, I couldn't give up.
“Damned!” I tried to roar, but my voice failed. I was exhausted.
Likewise, I caught my breath and dived back in, unable to give up.
As soon as I emerged from the water, I transformed into a wolf and ran frantically. My paws burned with effort, and night was approaching, increasing the danger of the climb to the top of the mountain. I heard the howl of a wolf and lifted my snout to see it in the middle of the mountain, with the flag in its mouth. Another wolf, groaning in pain, slammed into a rock and fell down. I saw the larger wolf stop and look ecstatic, feeling victorious for taking down another opponent.
