Chapter 81. The Thirst for Blood
We crouched near the first defenses of the Crescent Moon pack. Alpha Harry was notoriously distrustful, even of his own pack. His main defenses were oriented towards the entrance, while the pack occupied the center. However, his personal refuge, a small castle that could be described as egocentric, was situated deeper. After passing through two layers of defenses, we found the town, and then more of his trusted soldiers stretched around.
“It's a lunatic!” Beta Oliver growled.
“A coward!” I corrected my beta. At that moment, I heard Sophie's voice, filled with sadness and fear. I raised my snout high, closing my eyes to sniff the air, trying to absorb her emotions.
“Are you okay, my king?” Oliver asked, sniffing the surroundings for any signs of danger.
I opened my predatory eyes, feeling anger coursing through my veins. My inner beast longed to take control and dive into chaos.
