Chapter 96. Powerful Elixir

My body tingled with every touch, as if each caress left a trail of warmth on my skin, bristling with cold. The Alpha's sparkling eyes, now dangerously dark, reflected his intense presence, while his scent became more enveloping and sweet.

“Let's get out of here, human. Your fragile body can't handle the cold,” he declared firmly. I provocatively growled, noticing a subtle smile on the Lycan's lips.

“Careful, Alpha. I'm starting to believe you care about my well-being,” I commented, eliciting a slightly amused response from him.

“Don't be foolish,” he said, lightly biting the tip of my ear before pulling me out of the water. He led me through the forest, collecting dry branches and hollow stones along the way. I arched my eyebrows, curious.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“I'll make a fire, so you don't freeze to death,” he replied with a wicked smile, sniffing the air. “Although it won't last forever,”

I grimaced, not understanding his enigma
