Chapter 80. Betrayal Unveiled
"Knox!" I shouted, rushing to his side in a blind panic. My heart hammered in my chest as I dropped to my knees beside him. "Let me see," I urged, trying to pry his hand away to assess the wound. The sight of so much blood made my stomach churn.
"Didn't... see it coming," he gasped, breathing laboured. His attempt at a smile was feeble, the colour draining rapidly from his cheeks.
"Stay with me, brother," I urged, pressing a hand against the wound to stem the bleeding. It was just a blade wound; it didn't even look silver. Why wasn't he healing? Fear tightened its grip on me as I realised his body showed no signs of mending.
"Touching. But futile." Sebastian's taunting laughter echoed around us.
