Chapter 39. The Value of Forgiveness

It's been exactly three days since Theo and I have been taking turns staying with my mother-in-law at the hospital. Bianca got in touch, but she always made excuses that she couldn't bear to see her mother that way, that she still harbored resentment, or that she was too busy with her daughter to come to the hospital. On one hand, I understood her resentment, but her mother was dying, and she could at least try to forgive her. After all, what would be left after she was gone? Regret? Guilt? Doubt?
