The day passed lazily. After Juliano left, my mother and I spent part of the day talking. When she finished her lunch, drowsiness from the medication kicked in, and she soon fell into a deep sleep.
I stayed quietly by her side, but soon boredom took over, prompting me to take a stroll. I passed by the playroom on that floor, but I didn't see that little girl again. I went down to the ground floor and walked through the corridors until I found myself in the spacious garden. The place was calm, almost empty, except for a small figure sitting under one of the trees. The little girl who caught my attention was dressed in a yellow dress adorned with colorful unicorns, and on her head, a light pink knitted cap covered her lack of hair.
