“Hi…” I greeted back, feeling a bit shy. I was sure he heard me because he glanced at me for a second, looking a bit confused.

But I felt even more shy and embarrassed when he suddenly spoke… and there… I understood why he looked a bit confused just a second ago.

“Hello, Ms. Faith. So it was you… have you changed your number?”

I wished the ground would swallow me up right then and there! Why didn’t I wait to see if he would say anything else after his initial “hello”? This is so embarrassing! What would he think now… that I was eager to talk to him? Oh god, this… this is really… really… embarrassing! He’s probably laughing on the inside! He’s probably just holding back his laughter because he seems to be having a serious conversation with his manager, Faith.

Not wanting him to see how mortified I was, I quickly walked to our locker room without looking back at him.
