“The duty today was toxic…” I sighed while complaining to Kristy, who had the same duty hours as me for today.
“True…” She sighed in agreement. “Thankfully, it’s only five minutes until we’re out. I hope there won’t be any emergency cases at the last minute…”
“I hope so…”
I stood up and stretched. I moved my back, shoulders, neck, and legs because they were all aching from stiffness.
Thankfully, our wish came true as we didn’t receive any last-minute emergencies from our patients, so we were able to leave on time without having to do overtime.
Kristy left ahead of me because she had somewhere else to go, while I stayed for a few more minutes here in the on-call room to rest my feet and to change my clothes since I felt sticky from all the sweat I got while assisting in a surgery earlier.
