Chapter 228. At the Playground

The next song shuffled on—another one of his hits, “Catch the Stars.” I grinned, recognizing the intro immediately. “Oh, I love this one!” I exclaimed.
“Yeah?” Tate raised an eyebrow. “This one almost didn’t make it to the album.”
“No way!” I was genuinely surprised. “But it’s so catchy.”
As we sang the chorus together, I noticed the way his grip on the steering wheel relaxed. He seemed more at ease, especially as we got into the rhythm of his music.
“You ever get tired of hearing your own voice?” I teased as the song faded out.
Tate smirked. “Sometimes. But it’s fun when I’m with someone who enjoys it as much as you do.”
We kept chatting about random things—old memories from when we were younger, what kind of coffee we liked, the music we had been listening to lately. The mood was light, and for a moment, it felt like we were just two friends catching up, not a superstar driving me around in his sports car.
