I turned the tiny hourglass at the center of the time turner, chanting softly under my breath, “May 12, 1909… May 12, 1909… May 12, 1909…”
As the last word left my lips, dizziness hit me hard, as if the world had begun spinning too fast for me to keep up. Even though this was my third time experiencing it, the disorientation was no less overwhelming, and I still hadn’t gotten used to the sensation.
