“Asher?” I heard Auntie Marie’s familiar voice call out from the front door just as I was making my way down the stairs.
I had been on a video call with Tate while watching ‘Sinister,’ a popular Western horror movie we both hadn’t seen yet. I quickly told him to pause the film since someone was ringing the doorbell and asked him to wait for me so we could resume afterward.
“Yes, Auntie… coming, wait a moment,” I called out as I headed for the door.
When I opened it, there she was, as expected, holding two tupperware containers. Judging by their shape and her usual routine, I assumed one held rice and the other some dish she had prepared for dinner.
