We spent what felt like hours chatting and laughing at the table. Mom and Dad had already gone inside, claiming they were feeling drowsy from all the food and company. Meanwhile, the rest of us—Paige, Sarah, Zac, Fitz, Migs, Chace, Tate, and I—seemed to revel in catching up as if we hadn’t seen each other in years.
Conversations flowed easily as we shared updates about our lives, and the table buzzed with energy. Even Chace, who occasionally appeared slightly out of place, especially when the conversation drifted toward our time in Siariwan, managed to laugh and toss in comments here and there.
