A week had passed since Mom’s birthday party—since Asher deliberately locked us in my drawer, since he and I made up, since Paige and Sarah reconciled with Migs and Fitz, and since Tate apologized to both Mom and Asher for missing the celebration.
Within that week, only a handful of events stood out as significant to me. For instance, Czar invited me over to her condo unit again, where she and Zac lived. We watched another movie that night, but the real highlight came afterward. Exhausted, Czar fell asleep early, leaving Zac and me awake and restless.
