Chapter 401. Unspoken Addendum

For a moment, my mind wrestled with indecision over what to do first. Should I stick to my original plan of listening to the song as it is on the streaming platform, earphones on, volume at its maximum? Or should I watch the music video right away, to get all the pain over with in one go—just in case the lyrics and whatever sweetness Tate and Gracie had in the video ended up breaking my heart?
I stared at my phone, the streaming app already open. There it was—the title of Tate’s newest song: She’s The One.
The title alone… it pierced through my chest. Just from those three words, I already knew. The very first note and lyric would hurt me.
Maybe… I shouldn’t follow my original plan. Maybe it’s better to start with the music video. That way, I’d hear the song immediately, absorb the lyrics, and see for myself what Gracie’s role in it was. Like I said, it’d be better to get all the pain out of the way in one go.
