Chapter 418. Out of Prison

After stepping out of Mrs. Lambert’s room, I found myself walking down the hallway alongside Doc Ken. Of course, with Doc Ken, it didn’t matter if we were in the middle of a hospital shift—he always found time for his random gossip sessions, and as a gossip enjoyer myself, I really just couldn’t complain.
“I have so much tea to spill!” he declared dramatically, pinching my arm before throwing his own around it in a playful side-hug. “I missed you, sis!” he added, as though we hadn’t seen each other just the day before. It wasn’t just a casual greeting, though. He knew all about what had happened between Tate and me—except for yesterday’s incident. He didn’t know about the unexpected encounter, nor Tate’s irritating question: ‘Do we have a problem?’
And knowing Doc Ken, I was sure that once his emergencies were taken care of, I’d end up spilling yesterday’s events to him.
