This night had been utterly exhausting.
So much had happened. And even more than that—we had learned so much information.
Chace’s apartment had been filled with paintings—paintings of me and Tate.
I had seen two portraits of myself. One depicted me as I had looked in my previous life—when I was Kate. The other showed me as I was now… in this lifetime—as Lee.
I could see the confusion etched into the faces of the police officers and investigators as they saw all the paints of me and Tate. Even Zac had been visibly baffled. They stared at the paintings, trying to piece together what they meant, their brows furrowed, their eyes darting between each other as if waiting for someone to provide a logical explanation.
Of course, Asher and I couldn’t give them one.
