“Thank you so much, AJ. Seriously, thank you…” I said, hugging him tightly after he opened the car door for me. “I don’t know how I’ll ever repay you for—”

Before I could finish my sentence, AJ leaned in and kissed me. It was a gentle kiss, lasting a second longer than I anticipated before I slowly pushed him away.

“Let’s take things slow, AJ, shall we?” I asked softly, my eyes searching his. “I… I just want this to… to be real. Let’s… let’s not rush things between us.”

He nodded immediately, his face filled with understanding. “Yeah…” he murmured. “I’m sorry. It’s just… it’s just that I’m really attracted to you and… and I just can’t seem to stop myself…” He playfully tapped his lips with his fingers, pretending to scold them. “Bad lips, bad lips…” he muttered, as if they were the ones to blame for kissing me—like they had a mind of their own.

I chuckled and patted his back gently. “Alright, you should go home now. I’ve got a shift later…”
