Just as I had planned, I no longer asked Mommy and Daddy to take me back to Denzia.

When they asked me what I wanted for my birthday, the first thing that came to mind was a bike. It seemed like the most reasonable thing for a seven-year-old to ask for, and besides, there was nothing else I truly wanted—except to save Lee and Tate… and, of course, Mommy and Daddy as well.

“Yay! You have a bike now too, Ash!” Ck cheered excitedly when I told him, Joan, and Laurence about my birthday gift. “Tell your Mommy and Daddy to take you to the park this weekend so the four of us can go biking together!”
